Company Matching Gifts
We know that when you take the time to give, you want simple and convenient options. To accommodate this request, Hoods For Heroes is looking to partner with employers all over the U.S. to allow their employees the option of giving through the workplace.
Regular contributions from hardworking employees and their employers make a big impact in reducing cancer in fire service and supporting local fire service professionals.
Make a donation and double your impact with your employer’s matching gift
Many employers will match tax-deductible charitable contributions made by their employees, retirees and employees’ spouses. Inquire if your company will participate!
What will your legacy be?
Helping Pat Taafe readjust after a stage 4-colon cancer? Allowing Betty Braun to honor the memory of her husband, George, who died from cancer? Supporting Jeremy McKay’s wife and children so they can support him through his stage 4 cancer treatment?
This could be your legacy when you make a planned gift to Hoods For Heroes.
With your help, the programs and services that allow our Heroes to protect themselves, heal and thrive will continue for years to come.
Make your mark on the life of a firefighter
There is not one simple solution to extinguishing Firefighter cancer. In the same way, there are multiple ways you can help support the cause to reduce this epidemic.
Through your will:
As a donor, you can add Hoods For Heroes to your will. You can choose to name H4H for a specific amount, or for a percentage of your estate. Plan your gift today, and know that you will be leaving a legacy of support.
Through a trust:
A trust lets you give to the charities you care about now, and for years to come. And with tax savings for you and your beneficiaries, it’s a choice that not only makes a difference – it makes sense.
Through a beneficiary designation:
Naming Hoods For Heroes as a beneficiary of your estate lets you give certain assets to H4H after your lifetime. Donors typically designate retirement accounts, bank accounts, life insurance policies, and/or stock and investment securities. In some cases, if H4H is the owner and beneficiary of an insurance policy, your premium payments can be tax-deductible.
Whichever way you choose to give, your donation ensures that every day is an opportunity for our firefighter heroes to make connections, pursue new careers, take on physical challenges or simply realize they are not alone. How do I arrange for a charitable bequest?
We recommend you work with a legal advisor to make any changes to your will or planned giving arrangements. They will support you in deciding what’s right for you and your estate.
Once you’ve drawn up arrangements, we’ll need a copy of your will or trust.
